Victoria BC has something for everyone! One of Victoria’s signature attractions is the Royal British Columbia Museum, where you can learn about British Columbia’s exciting history as well as that of the fascinating First Nations’ culture.
Victoria is brimming with historical buildings - horse-drawn carriage tours and sightseeing trolley tours are an excellent way to navigate among the founding streets, many of which are also within walking distance of our Victoria hotel for those interested in walking tours. Another must-see is the magical Craigdarroch Castle, built in 1890 by the wealthy coal baron Robert Dunsmuir. Catch a Harbour Ferry and travel up the scenic Gorge Waterway to the Craigflower Schoolhouse, an original Hudson Bay Company farm established in 1853. Or, explore the Victoria Art Gallery, displaying both classic and contemporary artists such as Victoria’s own Emily Carr.
Share in the British tradition of afternoon high tea at Murchies, historic Point Ellice House or nearby James Bay Tearoom. Experience the grand IMAX National Geographic Theatre, a 6 storey-tall, 70 feet wide screen. Miniature World will delight the young and young at heart with over 80 handcrafted dioramas. Also nearby is the Pacific Undersea Gardens which offers a large marine display and features a Live Dive Show.
The mild year-round climate makes for stunning gardens, earning Victoria, British Columbia the reputation of Canada’s “city of gardens”. The world-renowned Butchart Gardens, spanning over 55 acres is open year-round and showcases the colors of the seasons in unique and stunning displays. The unique firework shows are held each Saturday night throughout July and August in the Butchart Gardens are also a must-see, and included with admission to these gardens!
