Best Western Inner Harbour Downtown Victoria Hotel
A visit to Victoria should include a date with our famous offshore residents; orca whales, minkes, humpbacks, porpoises, sea lions, otters and more. Spectacular whale-watching tours are offered April to October, and marine wildlife tours are available from October to April.
Move at your own pace, and rent a canoe or kayak and explore the calm Gorge Waterway. Cycle the Galloping Goose Regional Trail, spanning over 100 kilometers from Sidney to Sooke. Our staff will be pleased to assist with rentals of such recreational equipment. As Victoria is such an excellent walking city, there are also several convenient walkways near our hotel, such as along Dallas Road (Vancouver Island's coastline drive), to the Ogden Point Breakwater and Cruise Ship Terminal.
The Pacific Northwest boasts a spectacular display of spawning salmon between September and November, and this natural event draws people from around the world. Goldstream Park, located just 19 kilometers north of Victoria, is the most popular and easily-accessible location to view this life cycle of salmon take place. Wildlife are also attracted to this excitement, with hundreds of bald eagles & thousands of sea gulls arriving to gorge on the spent fish.
