Victoria, BC is known around the world as one of the best places for watching orca, humpback, gray whales and other wildlife that live in our marine environment.
Our beautiful harbour city is perfectly located just outside the Strait of Juan de Fuca - the seasonal feeding ground for the Southern Resident Killer whales - which numbers approximately 80 whales. They return to our waters each year, between May and October to feed on the abundant sea life. The Orcas, which are an endangered species, have experienced a baby boom during the past year, with 8 calves born into J-Pod. This is an exciting time to plan a visit to Victoria, BC that includes a whale watching excursion.
